CORONAVIRUS COVID-19 AFRICA UPDATES: 11/03/2020

Day by day, due to the latest news about Coronavirus Covid-19, governments around the world are imposing travel restrictions and bans to Mainland China and several other countries impacted by the health crisis.

All the information is subject to change at any moment. Please always check the related websites.

Here you can find the list of what African countries are doing at their borders and if there is any travel restriction. If you’re planning on travelling to any of these countries, do your research and find out if you’ll be allowed entry.

Angola

Passengers who arrive from or have been in Algeria, Mainland China, Egypt, Iran, Italy, South Korea or Nigeria are not allowed to enter Angola. This does not apply to nationals of Angola. (Last updated: 10 March 2020).

Nationals of Qatar are not allowed to enter Egypt.

Passengers who have been in Bahrain, Mainland China, Chinese Taipei, France, Germany, Hong Kong (SAR China), Iran, Iraq, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Kuwait, Macao (SAR China), Malaysia, Singapore, Switzerland, Spain, Thailand or Vietnam will be screened upon arrival, and must present a completed “Health Observation Card”, upon arrival, and will be followed up for a period of 14 days.

Passengers who reside or have been in Mainland China, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, Iran, Italy (Lombardy, Veneto and Emilia Romagna provinces only), South Korea or Macao in the past 14 days are not allowed to enter Mauritius. Nationals of Mauritius, who have been in Mainland China, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong, Iran, Italy (Lombardy, Veneto and Emilia Romagna provinces only), South Korea or Macao in the past 14 days, will be placed in quarantine.

Passengers who have been in Mainland China, Hong Kong, Iran, Italy, South Korea or Macao in the past 14 days are not allowed to transit or enter Seychelles. This does not apply to nationals and residents of Seychelles. Passengers residing in Mainland China, Hong Kong, Iran, Italy, South Korea or Macao are not allowed to transit or enter Seychelles.
