If you are having a vacation in Zanzibar and you want to live a safari experience, Selous Game Reserve is for sure one great choise.

Easy, fast and cheap to reach than its northern cousins, this park doesn’t hide its wildlife to visitors.

Our expedition begin with an internal flight from Zanzibar to Selous Game Reserve.

The driver and the guide we already arranged the safari were at Airstrip already waiting for us. In few minutes we were ready  to proceed for a full day game drive safari exploring Selous Game Reserve.  This park is mostly set for haunting, but in the parts where is open to visitors is very rewarding for animals.

Giraffe, lions, hyppo, wildebeest and buffalo are very common and they will give us a full company during all the safari.

An evening sunset boat cruise along the Rufiji River is the best way to end our first day of this expedition.

For dinner and overnight we choose Africa Safari Camp.

For our second day of safari in Selous game reserve, we planned to start with an early morning game drive from 06:00 till 9:00a.m. and after breakfast we left our accomodation for a walking safari accompanied by an armed ranger and our guide.

We’ll come back in the evening at Africa Safari Camp for a hot shower, dinner and a relaxing sleep.

The third day, before breakfast, a romantic morning sunrise boat along the Rufiji River was waiting for us, before start moving for a safari to Masai Village.

We spent the afternoon with the masaai tribe and preparing the tend camp for the night. There is something magic in sleeping in a tend under the stars in the african savannah.

Day 4.

After a early breakfast with eggs and sausages and a regenerating coffee, we had to say hello to the Masai Village and our friends who gave us accomodation for the night, and depart to Selous Game Reserve to go on with our expedition.

Hot water springs are very common in Tanzania, and even in this trip we stopped for a hot natural bath.

We came back again to Africa Safari Camp in late afternoon for dinner and overnight, in order to prepare our flight back to Zanzibar the following day.
