Then became a <strong>National Reserve<\/strong> and a National Park after the independence. In 1976 the park was opened with the name of\u00a0 <strong>P\u00f4 National Park. It changed into Kabor\u00e9 Tambi in 1991,<\/strong> in order to honor the memory of a local ranger who was killed by poachers. This park is very important for <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.hoaexp.com\/2021\/01\/18\/birdwatching-safari-how-and-where-to-do-it\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>birdwatchers<\/strong><\/a>, in fact it is <strong>home to many <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.hoaexp.com\/st_activity\/13-day-wilderness-trail-all-inclusive\/\">species of birds<\/a><\/strong>, most of which are typical of West <strong>Africa<\/strong>. A <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.hoaexp.com\/2021\/02\/16\/your-first-safari-some-useful-tips\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>safari<\/strong> <\/a>at <strong>Kabor\u00e9 Tambi National Park<\/strong> is mainly recommended for birding, so, but you can also try boat trips and explore the rivers&#8217; banks in order to find typical local animals.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h2>About Kabor\u00e9 Tambi National Park<\/h2>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.birdlife.org\/africa\/partners\/burkina-faso-naturama\">Kabor\u00e9 Tambi National Park<\/a> is mainly a savannah<\/strong>. The vegetation changes from <strong>north &#8211; Sudan grassland<\/strong> &#8211; to south, where you can admire a particular guinean savannah. Three main rivers cross the territory: Nazinon river, the former Red Volta; <strong>Nazinga river<\/strong> and Sissili. There are many other smaller ones, too, which make the park a beautiful place to visit.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Kabor\u00e9 Tambi<\/strong> surface covers <strong>155,500 hectares and is 115 km south to the capital of Burkina Faso<\/strong>. The territory is put under the supervision of the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.unep.org\/resources\/report\/ministry-environment-burkina-faso\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ministery of the Environment<\/a><\/strong> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?sa=t&amp;rct=j&amp;q=&amp;esrc=s&amp;source=web&amp;cd=&amp;cad=rja&amp;uact=8&amp;ved=2ahUKEwjO6oab3qDvAhUB8hQKHQCGDgUQFjAAegQIAhAD&amp;url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.devex.com%2Forganizations%2Ffriends-of-nature-foundation-naturama-22821&amp;usg=AOvVaw2muDtKVbYpQ3_8lcKdzWt1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>NGO Naturama Africa<\/strong><\/a>. Safari and trips are organized mainly by <strong>Ougadougou<\/strong>&#8216;s tour operators.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_15612\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-15612\" style=\"width: 800px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-15612\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.hoaexp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/kabore-01_marcoschmidt-1024x1024.jpg\" alt=\"kabore 01\" width=\"800\" height=\"533\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.hoaexp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/kabore-01_marcoschmidt-768x512.jpg 768w, https:\/\/blog.hoaexp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/kabore-01_marcoschmidt.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 800px) 100vw, 800px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-15612\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">photo by Marco Schmidt<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2>What to see at Kabor\u00e9 Tambi National Park<\/h2>\n<p>This park is famous for its wild vegetation, especially for the forests running along the rivers&#8217; banks. <strong>Typical African animals<\/strong> live on the territory and you can easily admire beautiful <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.hoaexp.com\/st_activity\/great-summer-migration-7-nights-luxury\/\">elephants, antelopes, crocodiles<\/a>.<\/strong> But Kabore Tambi is also home to jackals, reptiles and monkeys. <strong>The protagonists are birds, though<\/strong>. This is the perfect place for birdwatching in Burkina Faso.<\/p>\n<p>Hundred species live among the bushy vegetation: <strong>turacos, piapiacs, bearded barbets, pied winged swallows, pendulines, sun larks .<\/strong>.. .\u00a0The most beautiful birds of the park are the <strong>Senegal parrots<\/strong>. Their many-coloured feathers and their smart eyes attract tourists, especially those who love birding around the world. Some birds also have their habitat in the rivers&#8217; water, and it is interesting to see them fishing!<\/p>\n<h2>Tourist information about Kabor\u00e9 Tambi<\/h2>\n<p>Kabor\u00e9 Tambi is a very famous natural area. In the capital city Ougadougou many <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/blog.hoaexp.com\/st_activity\/10-day-across-botswana-camping-small-group-overland-tour\/\">tour operators<\/a> organize safaris<\/strong> to the park, so you can easily get there with their bus or private jeep cars. If you go on your own, <strong>follow the Ouagadougou-Bolgatanga Highway<\/strong> or ask for information about regional buses that reach the villages near the park.<\/p>\n<p>At 11 km south of the western entrance to the park, you will see <strong>the tomb where ranger Kabor\u00e9 Tambi lies buried<\/strong>. As you go enjoying the wildlife and the birdwatching, you shall <strong>pay a tribute to this local hero<\/strong> who died in order to defend what you are allowed to visit today.
