It was established in 1937 by the French government in order to protect the precious forest, maybe the only real green region of the Country. Because of the many <strong>baobab trees,<\/strong> these forests were also a great tourist attraction, already in the past. When the former colony became the Republic of Upper Volta, the new government kept the protected area and turned it into a real <strong>National Park in 1967.<\/strong> From that first year to the 1990s, though, the <strong>National Park<\/strong> had to face wild hunting, poaching and also mining which endangered the territory and the animal species. Today <strong>Deux Bales<\/strong> is protected both <a href=\"http:\/\/www.burkina.com\/\"><strong>by the government<\/strong> <\/a>and by international boards, but it keeps having troubles every now and then.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<h2>About the Forest<\/h2>\n<p>This region in the central-east <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.hoaexp.com\/st_location\/western-africa\/burkina-faso\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Burkina Faso<\/strong><\/a> is one of the very few green spots of the nation. But it still has sparse vegetation, mainly bushy or savannah. There are some <strong>baobab forests, though, which are the real treasure of the place<\/strong>. These big, large trees with a weird shape are the symbol of Africa and here you can find many. Other trees that are part of the <strong>Deux Bal\u00e9s forests<\/strong> are: Anogeissus Leiocarpus, Isoberlinia Doka, Terminalia Laxiflora. They mainly <strong>grow along the banks of the Bale river<\/strong> crossing the Park.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_15605\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-15605\" style=\"width: 799px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-15605 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.hoaexp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/deux-bale-01.jpg\" alt=\"deux bale 01\" width=\"799\" height=\"531\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.hoaexp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/deux-bale-01.jpg 799w, https:\/\/blog.hoaexp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/deux-bale-01-768x510.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 799px) 100vw, 799px\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-15605\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">elephants<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2>About Deux Bal\u00e9s&#8217; animals<\/h2>\n<p>The fauna in Deux Bal\u00e9s is interesting, especially as for <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.hoaexp.com\/st_activity\/4-days-safari-tour-itinerary-for-tanzania-come-for-luxury-big-five-safaris\/\"><strong>antelopes and elephants<\/strong><\/a> are concerned. While Burkina Faso is home to the largest number of elephants in West Africa, the forest of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?sa=t&amp;rct=j&amp;q=&amp;esrc=s&amp;source=web&amp;cd=&amp;cad=rja&amp;uact=8&amp;ved=2ahUKEwjoqpDJ3KDvAhUU8uAKHULbDLsQFjAAegQIARAD&amp;url=https%3A%2F%2Fen.wikipedia.org%2Fwiki%2FDeux_Bal%25C3%25A9s_National_Park&amp;usg=AOvVaw0dvEZ-KBqtq2kyHKIcYVFq\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Deux Bal\u00e9s<\/strong><\/a> only hosts 400 of them. This is due to the wild hunting of the past years, so today these elephants are a very protected group. <strong>It is a privilege for tourists to admire them<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Also antelopes are protagonists of the Park&#8217;s life. In <strong>Deux Bal\u00e9s<\/strong> live the largest number of antelopes of the area, and the survival or disappearing of the species depends on how long the <strong>National Park<\/strong>&#8216;s group will live in the future. Besides antelopes and elephants, this reserve is home to<strong> crocodiles, hippopotami and buffalos, plus many species of birds.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>More information about Deux Bal\u00e9s<\/h2>\n<p>Over 810 sq km of land surface, this park is a small paradise keeping the historical traces of Burkina Faso&#8217;s flora and fauna. It covers a large part of Bale Province and <strong>the reference town is<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikivoyage.org\/wiki\/Bobo-Dioulasso\"><strong>Bobo-Dioulasso<\/strong><\/a>, also home to the famous &#8220;mud mosque&#8221; &#8211; a great palace made of a special material mixed with mud and wood. If you want to visit Deux Bal\u00e9s National Park you can also visit Bobo-Dioulasso and you will <strong>easily get there by bus or train.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Many bus companies connect the capital city <strong>Ouagadougou<\/strong> with Bobo-Dioulasso. Twice a week, the train connecting the capital to <strong>Abidjan<\/strong> makes a stop at <strong>Bobo-Dioulasso station<\/strong>.
