The greenest part is collected in the southern regions, where also the mountains stand. Cities and villages, so as tourist resorts, are in the south as well. It is known as a &#8220;garden state&#8221; because of its many National Parks. There are ten, all worth the visit.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Uganda used to be a <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Bantu_peoples\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Bantu<\/a> land, before the arrival of Arabs and Europeans. This tribe was a big one and had to fight against invaders, especially Luo tribe. The Arabs ruled the region in recent times, from the 17th to the 19th century. Then, <strong>the British arrived and ruled Uganda up to its independence in 1962.<\/strong> Uganda&#8217;s economy is mainly based on agriculture and &#8211; as for the lakeside towns &#8211; fishing. Tourism is very important, especially as far as safaris are concerned.<\/div>\n<h2>When to go to Uganda<\/h2>\n<div><strong>The best time to visit Uganda is during its two <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Dry_season\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">dry seasons<\/a>.<\/strong> Especially in the green south, rains can be heavy and cause floods and other troubles tourists cannot face. From January to March and then from June to Semptember are the perfect periods for your trip or safari. Temperatures are nice, days are sunny and bright, many wild animals are in their habitat ready for you to admire them.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<h2><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-13828\" src=\"https:\/\/blog.hoaexp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/UGA-1.jpg\" alt=\"UGA 1\" width=\"1024\" height=\"681\" srcset=\"https:\/\/blog.hoaexp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/UGA-1.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/blog.hoaexp.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/07\/UGA-1-768x510.jpg 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/h2>\n<h2>What to see<\/h2>\n<div><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bwindiforestnationalpark.com\/\">Bwindi Forest<\/a> is the main tourist attraction in Uganda.<\/strong> This mountain wood is home to the <strong>famous mountain gorillas<\/strong>, some of which are very rare to see &#8211; like the Silver Back species. You need a special Visa and an expert guide to visit this &#8220;impenetrable forest&#8221; and get very close to these incredible animals. Another exciting place to visit it <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.hoaexp.com\/2020\/08\/24\/queen-elizabeth-national-park-where-the-lions-climb-trees\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Queen Elizabeth National Park<\/strong><\/a>, where all African wild animals are present. Do not miss watching the &#8220;climbing lions&#8221;, making sure you are not too close anyway! <strong>Ziwa Rhino Ranch<\/strong> is a small local park that protects these animals, and the only place in Africa where you can see black and white rhinos living together.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<div>Enjoy <strong>small cruises along White Nile River or along Kazinga River<\/strong>, home to beautiful hippopotamus.\u00a0A spectacular place to visit are the Murchinson&#8217;s Falls, but also <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.hoaexp.com\/2020\/06\/25\/lake-victoria-discover-another-africa\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Lake Victoria<\/a> is worth a visit. The national capital of Uganda is located on Lake Victoria&#8217;s shores. <strong>Kampala is a modern city<\/strong> which still keeps its African soul. Monuments to admire here, are: Gheddafi Mosque, Bahai Temple, Kasubi Tombs &#8211; which show the typical local burials of the past. More to see: the National Uganda Museum, the beautiful christian churches, the monuments to Independence and to the Ugandese Martyrs.<\/div>\n<h2>How to get to Uganda<\/h2>\n<\/div>\n<div><strong>The <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Kampala_Airport\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">airport of Kampala<\/a><\/strong> welcomes international flights from almost all Africa and some flights from Europe (London, mainly). It is <strong>set in Entebbe,\u00a0 35 km south-west<\/strong> of the capital itself. It is well connected to Kampala and other cities nearby. You could also get to Kampala and Uganda <strong>by ferry-boats<\/strong> from <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.hoaexp.com\/2020\/09\/02\/welcome-to-kenya\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kenya<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.hoaexp.com\/2019\/10\/10\/tanzania-safari-expedition\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Tanzania<\/a>, sailing on Lake Victoria.<\/div>\n<div>Buses are the second main means of transport in Uganda.
